What are the main uses of disposable paper cups

Disposable paper cups are convenient to carry and use, inexpensive paper cups, and are common drinking tools in many households and public places. It uses recycled polyethylene, which undergoes cracking changes during the reprocessing process, producing many harmful compounds that are more likely to migrate into water during use.

The biggest function of paper cups is to hold beverages such as carbonated drinks, coffee, milk, cold drinks, etc. This is its earliest and most basic use.

Beverage paper cups can be divided into two types: cold cups and hot cups. Cold cups are used to hold cold beverages, such as carbonated drinks, iced coffee, etc; Hot cups are used to hold hot beverages such as coffee, black tea, etc.

Distinguishing between cold drink cups and hot drink paper cups, they each have their own functions, and once they are misaligned, they can threaten consumers' health. The surface of cold drink paper cups should be treated with wax spraying or immersion. Because cold drinks can cause water to accumulate on the surface of paper cups, causing them to soften, applying wax can make them waterproof. This wax is very stable and safe between 0-5 ℃.

But if used to hold hot drinks, as long as the temperature of the beverage exceeds 62 ℃, the wax will melt and the paper cup will absorb water and deform. The melted paraffin contains high impurities, especially polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, which are carcinogenic substances that can harm human health when entering the body with the beverage. The surface of the hot drink paper cup will be covered with a special polyethylene film recognized by the country, which not only has good heat resistance but also is non-toxic when soaked in high-temperature beverages. Paper cups should be stored in a ventilated, cool, dry, and pollution-free space, and the storage period should generally not exceed two years from the date of production.
