How can we distinguish whether paper cups are qualified?

If there is a noticeable pungent odor when opening the outer packaging of commercially available paper cups, or if the paper cups produce strange odors during use, it may be due to illegal manufacturers using recycled plastic or inferior paraffin wax in the production of paper cups. It is recommended not to purchase.

How should we choose to use paper cups?
Identify the "QS" logo. According to the requirements of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, food paper packaging containers and other products must have the QS (Food Quality and Safety Market Access Mark) logo before they can be sold.

The product identification must be complete. The complete product identification of paper cup products includes name, trademark, implementation standard number, production date and shelf life or production batch number and expiration date, product type, specifications, grade and quantity, product qualification mark, and the name and address of the manufacturing enterprise (or agent).
Better health than extravagance. If the ink used for paper cup colors is of poor quality or the printing technology is not up to standard, it can cause ink to enter the body through the mouth and contact with the paper cup, causing harm, or adhere to the hands when in contact, posing a hygiene hazard. Therefore, it is recommended that consumers try not to choose paper cups with too many patterns or overly bright and colorful colors. If there is a pungent odor when opening the packaging, it is also recommended not to purchase.
The cup body is stiff and guaranteed. Due to the different paper materials used, the hardness of the cup body of commercially available paper cup products varies. It is recommended that consumers gently pinch them when purchasing, and try to choose paper cups with a stiff cup body.

Reminder
Try not to use disposable paper cups to hold boiling water. To prevent water infiltration, the inner walls of the paper cups are coated with a thin layer of wax. When the water temperature exceeds 40 ℃, this layer of wax will melt, so do not fill paper cups with water above 40 ℃. Paper cups produced by legitimate manufacturers use food grade wax to coat the inner walls of the cups, so even if the water temperature is too high and the wax on the inner walls of the cups dissolves, there is no safety issue. But there are also illegal processing factories that use low-cost industrial paraffin to coat the inner walls of paper cups. Industrial paraffin contains harmful substances such as benzene and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, which can damage the nervous and hematopoietic systems of the human body. So when purchasing, be sure to choose paper cups produced by reputable manufacturers.

Additionally, when using disposable paper cups, it is best not to drink the first cup of water. It is best to pour in water and wait for four to five minutes before pouring it out. Let the harmful substances in the paper cup evaporate and dissolve completely before drinking.
